Monday Morning Hangover

Yep, you know the drill…the hangover was so bad that we waited until after lunchtime.
But, I digress. Go read this stuff:
— They like Memphis in the game tonight over at CB. (Cobra Brigade)
— Ozzie Guillen reads fan e-mail? Heck, I don’t even do that. (We Are The Postmen)
— Roy Williams, living the American Dream. (With [...]

“Ok, so I tried the water into wine thing again …”

“I didn’t realize the kids would be around! Babe, I’ll make it up to you! Here, look at this wacky stuff I’m doing …. hey, you’re not even watching!”

Davidson acts like the big boys

Sure they knocked off two perennial Sweet 16 teams, but that’s not what I am talking about. No, I’m talking about Davidson’s 6″8″ Forward Boris Meno.  You see during Davidson’s 74-70 victory over Georgetown I was impressed to learn that the Wildcat’s leading rebounder over the past two seasons, Boris Meno  is majoring in French.  While most athletes go [...]

March Sadness

My late picks, why Bob Knight is awesome and $9 dollar pickles.
I’d apologize for my lack of posts over the past month, but then again this blogging stuff is different than actual work.  I get paid to go to actual work, I only get hassled by 5-10 people when I don’t post.  Also, I moved [...]

The TMC D-Bag Award

Hey SI, how about we get rid of the “This week’s sign of the Apocalypse” and start up a “This Week’s Biggest Douche Bag”? (Although for those fans of the Adam Carolla show, maybe it should be the Douche Nozzle)
Check out the picture from SI this week.

Can you find our lucky winner?
Let me help you [...]

Paid Athlete Works Out, Earns Starting Spot

From the Daily Herald in Chicago comes this brilliant nugget  via Cubs beat writer Bruce Miles in regards to the Cubs Training Camp battle for a fifth starter:
“[Ryan]  Dempster appears to be the favorite because the Cubs promised him a shot to move from closer to starter and because Dempster has worked in the off-season to [...]

Brett Favre - Please Forward my Pension Check to the Following Address

As reported last by the NFL Network, Brett Favre retired from the Green Bay Packers last week.  As I listened to his retirement press conference, I realized that I had always been a Packers fan.  Then I promptly called my boss, quit my job, and I am now waiting for my NFL pension check to [...]

Everyone wants to break the Sampson story and I’m talking to you Jeff Goodman

FOX Sports.com’s Jeff Goodman is now reporting that Kelvin Sampson has been fired as Indiana’s head coach:
“Sampson was informed early Thursday that he will no longer be the coach at Indiana, numerous sources told FOXSports.com. The official announcement is expected to come Friday, when the university’s self-imposed seven-day investigation period ends.”
So there you have it [...]

UPDATE: Five “major” violations at IU under Sampson

The news broke this morning, and it’s not pretty.  The NCAA alleged five major violations against Indiana University’s men’s basketball team, a school that hasn’t had a major violation since 1960.
First off, here’s the PDF copy of the report: List of NCAA Allegations
Now, what does the report mean? In its most basic terms, the report [...]
