According to the Bloomington Herald Times blog, IU president McRobbie will be addressing the media at 3…and it appears unlikely that Kelvin Sampson will be joining him.
So Sampson was originally going to appear? Now he’s not? Hmm.
Stay tuned.

Well, there were obviously some huge changes in between my post from earlier tonight and the present time. My apologies for running with the story that Sampson would be suspended or fired today (Friday) — there was a lot of confirmation blood in the water, but it disappeared for some reason.
There are two questions that [...]

This is almost purely speculative, but I’ve had three separate people email me about it, and it was just mentioned on Indianapolis sports talk radio, so here goes…
What I’m hearing is that the powers that be (who were meeting most of this afternoon/evening, according to the Bloomington Herald-Times) have decided to either suspend Sampson indefinitely [...]

Those of us who went to IU and covered sports know how controlling the school can be. So it should be no surprise when, at last night’s 68-66 loss to Wisconsin, this fan (who told The Bloomington Herald-Times his name was “Tucker”) was asked by an Assembly Hall official to change this shirt reading “Bring [...]

Good piece of journalism by The Cincinnati Enquirer writer Dustin Dow, who tracked down one of two Cincinnati-area area recruits mentioned in the NCAA/Kelvin Sampson report. Massillon’s Kenny Frease will attend Xavier last year, but told Dow of his conversations with the NCAA and former IU assistant coach Rob Senderoff (who resigned from IU after [...]

And Kelvin Sampson Has Broken My Heart.
Remember “The Simpsons” episode where Ralph gave Lisa the Valentine, Lisa told Ralph she didn’t “like, like him” and later Bart showed Lisa in slow motion where you could see Wiggum’s heart breaking frame by frame? This was how I felt yesterday when Indiana University released the major infractions they received [...]

Three separate rumors now indicate that Sampson’s been unofficially canned, and will be taken out officially sometime on Friday.
I’m still unconvinced.
The presence of Rick Greenspan, the IU athletic director, in yesterday’s press conference and in the press release that IU put out yesterday, indicates that he’s steering the ship to a certain degree.
Given the seriousness [...]

Let’s start with the big rumor: According to The Big Lead, Sampson’s gone by Friday. One can only hope, but I have my doubts.
For what it’s worth, Cobra Brigade seems to be hearing the same thing. The guys over there really deserve a lot of props for being WAY ahead of this story, going all [...]
