Multiple sources are now reporting that Indiana University sophomore-to-be Jordan Crawford will not be back in red and white for the upcoming season.
Crawford was the team’s lone remaining recruited scholarship player from this past season.
This leaves the 2008-09 version of the Hoosiers with a roster that consists of Kyle Taber, some freshmen, and that’s really [...]

Cast: Galen Clavio, Scott Caulfield(part 1), John Koluder (part 2)
Topic: We talk about IU’s recent hire of Tom Crean. Galen likes it. Scott likes it. John likes it. Yes, all three of us like it. We haven’t had this kind of unanimity since our discussion of Maria Sharapova. Listen in and find out why.

Topic: IU basketball coaching search-o-rama. Scott and I break down the Tony Bennett situation, talk some Mike Montgomery, some Lon Kruger, and go through a bunch of other names (both realistic and unrealistic), before deciding that no one has a damn clue what’s going on with this situation.

Topics: The brackets. What else would be talked about? We discuss IU’s seeding, Butler’s seeding, the mild surprises of Oregon and Pittsburgh (for different reasons), and give our early Final Four picks.
Also, just a note from the final TMC bracket below - I successfully picked 33 of 34 at-large teams, and [...]

I’ll say this for Indiana University athletics — no one, and I mean no one, does drama better than the Cream and Crimson. Everyone always blamed the drama on Bob Knight, but that’s selling IU short. They certainly appear to have their own special type of crazy going for them.
What the hell happened today? Just [...]

And Kelvin Sampson Has Broken My Heart.
Remember “The Simpsons” episode where Ralph gave Lisa the Valentine, Lisa told Ralph she didn’t “like, like him” and later Bart showed Lisa in slow motion where you could see Wiggum’s heart breaking frame by frame? This was how I felt yesterday when Indiana University released the major infractions they received [...]

I just wanted to note that the Bloomington Herald-Times is reporting that senior guard and Indianapolis native A.J. Ratliff, who missed the first half of the season due to academics issues, is no longer on the Indiana basketball team.
The Herald Times blog noted the following:
The source said it was a mutual decision between Ratliff and [...]

Wasn’t sure if anyone else noticed this, but there was a passage in the Chicago Sun-Times game preview article for tonight’s Indiana-Illinois matchup that caught my eye:
If it’s any balm for Illini fans who regard Gordon in the same light as Benedict Arnold, this probably will be the last time Gordon comes to Champaign in [...]

We’ve been following this Sampson/NCAA issue on and off since October, but our friends over at Cobra Brigade had some interesting things to say about a new rumor that’s making the rounds in Hoosier-land. I’d recap it here, but I want you to go over and read what they have to say yourself.
We’re working on [...]
Dear Readers, LWN wishes you all a happy and prosperous Thanksgiving. Remember to spend time with your loved ones. Let them know what you are thankful for. Also, wonder out loud what the Native Americans are thankful for. Perhaps the white man coming to the New World, stealing their land, destroying their envirnoment, giving them [...]
