Crean The Right Move

While I am not usually as negative as other IU alumni on this website, I must say my gripes about IU generally are directed toward the athletic office.  Their usual mismanagement of Human Resources related issues must be some ploy to make sure their name gets on Sports Center in the hope that it will [...]

It’s Valentines Day….

And Kelvin Sampson Has Broken My Heart.

Remember “The Simpsons” episode where Ralph gave Lisa the Valentine, Lisa told Ralph she didn’t “like, like him”  and later Bart showed Lisa in slow motion where you could see Wiggum’s heart breaking frame by frame?  This was how I felt yesterday when Indiana University released the major infractions they received [...]

West Virginia Hires Former Outlaw As Coach

West Virginia announced on Saturday that they had hired formed dentist turned outlaw Doc Holliday to coach the tight ends and full backs.  He will also serve as the recruiting coordinator.  New West Virginia head coach Bill Stewart had this to say about Holliday, “He’ll be a tremendous asset to the West Virginia football program.”

This is all speculation, trust me on that. Yesterday Nebraska AD Tom Osbourne flew on a chartered plane to Baton Rouge, LA apparently to interview LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pellini. The plane then left to fly to Atlanta to meet with their coach searching firm and, presumably to interview Buffalo head coach Turner Gill. Huskernation [...]

THE GAMES OF THE WEEK

Dear Readers, LWN wishes you all a happy and prosperous Thanksgiving.  Remember to spend time with your loved ones.  Let them know what you are thankful for.  Also, wonder out loud what the Native Americans are thankful for.  Perhaps the white man coming to the New World, stealing their land, destroying their envirnoment, giving them [...]

Well, this is unfortunate

Lemme tell you — nothing takes the glow off your day quite like flying from Fort Lauderdale to Pittsburgh. Or Baltimore. But I’m in Pittsburgh now, hobnobbing with sport marketers and cursing the predicted 35-degree low temperatures for tonight.
A few stories to tide you over in the meantime:
— Rumored new ESPN hire (and current Baltmore [...]
