Cue the Kentucky cries: Gillispie can’t even outcoach a bunch of sixth graders.

Ok, it’s not quite that simple. But we love needling the big blue nation.
Thursday, UK coach Billy Gillispie gave his time to coach against a sixth-grade team from Dallas. His players? About the same size, just a tad older. Well, MUCH older.
Try a team of horse-racing jockeys. And the final score?
Sixth grade 49, jockeys 32.

UK fans love Joe Crawford so much they would marry him in a second

So the UK fans have fallen head over heels in love with this year’s 1st-round loser. Here’s a thread talking about whether they should retire (!) the jerseys of the immortal Ramel Bradley and Joe Crawford. Another about meeting the 13-loss Cats at the airport. A thread about jumping off a cliff because Marquette won. [...]

UK loses, crying fans give us more fun than game itself

Gotta love the Kentucky fans and their message board Cats Pause.
Nuggets from today? A deleted thread titled “We’re in deep-doo next year”, with the second post sarcastically reading:
“Thank You Tubby” (good lord, is EVERYTHING his fault?)
Then a thread asking if people are going to meet the team at the airport (for a 1st-round loss?!?!).
But [...]

UK: Please tell the SEC to go f*ck itself

So here’s the deal: The SEC says Kentucky and Georgia will play the quarterfinals at noon at Georgia Tech. Winner has to come back and play Mississippi State at 8:30 pm. Winner of that plays at 3 on Sunday. Potentially three games in 27 hours for the ‘Cats.
Oh, and only UK staff, players families, and [...]

Gillispie says no smiling or off with your nuts … or roster spot. Whichever comes first.

Note to all walk-ons at Kentucky: Never smile or laugh when you’re losing. Or you’ll become like Dusty Mills.
According to Jerry Tipton of The Lexington Herald-Leader, last week ESPN cameras had a shot of Mills and freshman Morakinyo Williams smiling and/or laughing during the waning moments of UK’s 93-52 loss at Vanderbilt. Neither made the [...]

UK fans: Only eight months until football season

So the Kentucky fans are a bit confused now: Should they wait to hate Billy Gillispie? After all, it’s ONLY 12 games into his first year … but after 12 games, the ‘Cats are 6-6 with home losses to Gardner-Webb and San Diego. And didn’t they want this? How many beat their heads against the [...]

Alex Legion, God is on line two: Lexington may be home after all

Remember what we wrote yesterday about the player we THOUGHT was FORMER Kentucky player Alex Legion? The one who’s mother thinks she’s a prophet, that she had no idea UK was a basketball haven until God told her so? Mom said on Friday he was transfering; Billy Gillispie got him to change it back, Legion plays [...]

Apparently God knew about UK basketball, didn’t know it’s coach

Remember the Kentucky basketball recruit Alex Legion, the one who’s mother said she was a prophet?
”I had no clue Kentucky was a basketball school. No clue,” Annette Legion told the Lexington Herald-Leader. “But God knew.”
God just didn’t do good enough research: Monday UK coach Billy Gillispie announced Legion is transfering after just six games. A UK [...]

Midnight Madness from around the country …

Isn’t this when life begins: The start of college hoops season? Ah, pure sweetness … except for that place where they spilled Sweet’N Low all over the court. That was just a mess.

— At Indiana, The Indianapolis Star says close to 13,000 fans chanted for the star frosh, yelling “Er-ic Gordon” even before he came [...]
