Yes, this is the new way that they're going to screw all of us. It's not unlike what happened in the next-gen DVD wars, with movie studios refusing to release anything in HD-DVD, thereby handing the format war to Blu-Ray.

Here's the thing, though...is anyone REALLY going to go out and buy a PS3 just so they can play Top Spin 3 with Nadal's virtual self? I just don't see it happening. No offense to the video game tennis fans out there, but this isn't Gran Turismo or Madden...or even Crash Bandicoot. No one is going to buy a new system just to play a tennis game.

Dumb idea by 2KSports. Almost as dumb as them dropping the College Hoops series.

Although, in retrospect, we really should have seen the "Former Washington General Joins WNBA" headline a lot sooner.

Major red flag... apparently Lieberman was a member of the Washington Generals during the 1980s.

Talk about bringing in a losing culture...

How silly. Everyone knows that Japanese software engineers created the high five while they were programming Tecmo Bowl.

I don't think he plays, but he's supposedly still involved in the design process. I remember an interview with him a few years ago where he was watching his grandson play the game, and the kid kept going for it (and making it) on 4th-and-long. Madden got so irritated that he called the design team and told them to re-program the game to avoid that.

Wait, isn't this the same Nancy Lieberman who was asked to leave her position as head coach of the Detroit Shock because she was having an affair with a player?

Maybe that's what she's contributing.

I haven't bought Madden in a decade ... well, mainly because I don't have a game system. But that's not the point.

Does anyone know if Madden actually plays the games (or understands them)? He doesn't seem like much of a gamer.
