Team USA: Mayor of Dunk City?

Over a billion people tuned in to watch the “Redeem Team” hurt the feelings of 12 Chinese people and subsequently 1.3 billion other Chinese. Oddly enough, Yao started the game off by draining a three, but soon enough things got out of hand. I can’t remember the last time I have seen so many dunks outside of an all star game. It was almost as if the Americans were taking turns at making posters for the kids back home. First it was Howard, then Lebron, followed by Kobe, and finished up by a little Wade. At one point Lebron caught an oop from Wade while being held down by some Chinese guy that is going to be playing for the Lakers and still threw it down, plus the foul. Despite the fact that the Americans have fast twitch muscles that allow spring-like hops, the shining part of the game had to be the pressure defense from USA. The poor guard play from China was the biggest separation from the two teams. Looking ahead to Spain, USA’s pressure defense will be tested against the likes of Calderon, Navarro, and company. The Spaniards had a big win against Greece today which should set the tone for the matchup against the Americans. Look for a closer game, but expect the athleticism and defense of the Americans to be too much. Happy Olympics!
