Speaking of Video Games…

Top Spin 3 came out about a month ago, and I know this isn’t timely; however, Rafael Nadal is only in the PlayStation 3 version of the game. This is absurd. I don’t see where PlayStation, 2K Sports, or Nadal get off doing this. Nadal is said to be a PS3 “exclusive”. Am I going to trash my 360 and go get a PS3 just for Rafa? For next year’s Madden you can only play with Devin Hester if you play on a Toshiba TV, with an Xbox 360, while using a Wii controller.

Yes, this is the new way that they’re going to screw all of us. It’s not unlike what happened in the next-gen DVD wars, with movie studios refusing to release anything in HD-DVD, thereby handing the format war to Blu-Ray.

Here’s the thing, though…is anyone REALLY going to go out and buy a PS3 just so they can play Top Spin 3 with Nadal’s virtual self? I just don’t see it happening. No offense to the video game tennis fans out there, but this isn’t Gran Turismo or Madden…or even Crash Bandicoot. No one is going to buy a new system just to play a tennis game.

Dumb idea by 2KSports. Almost as dumb as them dropping the College Hoops series.

Barry Bonds used to pull this diva shit with the various baseball titles. As did Oliver Kahn (he was always named something else in early FM releases)

I’ve also been a fan of Winning Eleven for years. The names they come up with to avoid buying player licenses are amazing.
