Report: IU’s Gordon gone

Shocker, eh? The Indianapolis Star’s Jeff Rabjohns reports frosh Eric Gordon is bolting for the NBA after just one season.

Gordon won Big Ten freshman of the year, was unanimously selected to the Big Ten first team and even made some All-America squads, but his spotty play after coach Kelvin Sampson’s forced resignation earned him a boatload of criticism, mainly after his lackluster effort in IU’s first-round loss to Arkansas.

Most draft projections have him going in the NBA’s “lottery”, or first 14 picks. NBA Draft.net projects him going sixth … to the LA Clippers.

Good luck with that one, Gordo.

His defection leaves new coach Tom Crean with just five scholarship players. The Star reports redshirt freshman center Eli Holman will travel to California this week to discuss with his family whether he’ll stay.
