As reported last by the NFL Network, Brett Favre retired from the Green Bay Packers last week.  As I listened to his retirement press conference, I realized that I had always been a Packers fan.  Then I promptly called my boss, quit my job, and I am now waiting for my NFL pension check to come in. 

In his press conference Brett said:

“I hear people talk about  your accomplishments, it was never my accomplishments.  It was about everyone else — coaches, players, fans.  It was our accomplishments.”

As I mentioned above, I became a Packers fan during this press conference.  So it was amazing to hear that Brett was sharing his accomplishments with all of us!  Suddenly, I was no longer just another person on the street, I was a Super Bowl Champion.  (Speaking of that, Brett, can I get my ring?) 

Since we did all of this together during OUR NFL career, I know we will do fine in retirement.  I must say, that just shy of my 30^th birthday, it is great to say that I am able to retire and put the rat race behind me.
