Just in case you’re hanging around Kazakhstan with nothing to do…

You really should check out this job listing on the JobsAbroad.com website.

Apparently, someone or something called “Running-Ball” is looking for a person to “attend soccer matches in Kazakhstan to provide a live commentary for us for the duration of games.” The listing says that you already have to be living in Kazakhstan, live within one hour of the stadium where the game is being played, and plan on staying in the country for the foreseeable future.

Also notable: The first requirement that the job lists is “High standard of spoken English”…which, if you think about it, would immediately eliminate about 90% of ESPN’s color commentators right off the bat.

But if you’re living in Kazakhstan, can speak good English, and know soccer, the job is yours…for a total of 30-40 British Pounds a game.

Wow. Nothing like $60 bucks for broadcasting Kazakh soccer.  Granted, in Kazakhstan, one game would probably buy you a house and a car, but still. Actually, I joke…$60-80 American dollars for broadcasting soccer is about double what I made as a baseball play-by-play announcer in the Frontier League. Yes, that’s sad.
