When you win two straight Music City Bowls, you can pretty much call your own shots. Just ask the University of Kentucky.

Offered by ESPN it’s prime-time Monday Night Football slot for September 1st (at Louisville) - unopposed by any other college game, mind you - Kentucky said thanks, but, well, we have other plans.

“We’re willing to play that game Thursday through Sunday, and we’ve communicated that to the people at ESPN,” Kentucky Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart told The Louisville Courier-Journal. “We’re not going to play that on a Monday night and give ourselves that short turnaround on a Saturday game. We’re going to have a young team, and we feel it’s in the best interest of our program to guard that prep time and that recovery time.”

Understandable, right? Surely UK has to get ready for a big SEC game the next week. Arkansas? No, it’s gotta be Florida. No, HAS to be LSU.

Umm .. none of the above. Saturday, September 6th the Wildcats host Norfolk State. D’oh.
