Just curious: Since winning the World Cup in 1986, has there been a positive story about Diego Maradona. Was only wonderin’ …
Saturday in Buenos Aires, Italian ATP player Potito Starace (yes, his name is Potito) said Maradona was jeering him from the minute he arrived on court. This is what Starace told Italy’s Radio Kiss Kiss (yes, apparently it’s really called that).
“Diego made me lose my head, I went to the umpire and I said to him: ‘Either you throw him out or I’ll go bash a racket in his teeth’.”
Starace said he was a big fan of Maradona before the match, but after had no interest in meeting him. Maradona said he was just supporting his fellow Argentine David Nalbandian, who beat Starace 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.
Besides, who wouldn’t make fun of a guy named Potito? Besides, by the look of that pic, Diego’s had more than a few potatoes.
