Indiana University: Censorship that’s all for you!

We envy Josh Tucker: He’ll have a ton of great stories for his grandkids. And perhaps for his attorney, too.

Wednesday Assembly Hall officials told him to take off his “Bring Back Bobby” shirt or he’d be arrested. His response? Create this website, start selling these t-shirts with this on the front:

This on the back:

And hand out a few dozen before ESPN Gameday’s appearance in Bloomington this morning. Which Josh did. After all, IU officials surely wouldn’t be dumb enough to play the censorship card again.

Of course, again, we gave IU too much credit.

“I had three guys come up to me and say they were taking away their shirts,” Tucker told us. “(Ushers) were taking signs, shirts, everything, and stacking them by the turnstiles”

Keep in mind Josh said these were merely his shirts or similar signs and shirts, not ones with obscenities. And apparently there were dozens of them by the gate.

Who made this choice? Who knows, but it’s gotta be IU - ESPN would have no reason to ask ushers to stop anything but vulgar signs.

As for Josh, he hid his shirt (as did a few others) before going in, but said there were so many people there his shirt never got close to camera range. Still, give it up to him for being quick: The guy already has 2,000 shirts made, says he’s made $350 online, and is giving all proceeds to the Jimmy V foundation for Cancer research. He’s not sure if he’ll give them out for tonight’s Michigan State game, but you can be sure, if he does, the Hall nazis will be there waiting with paddles.

IU, would getting a life be too much to ask?

I guarantee that if it was some hot blonde(a la the F*ck da Eagles girl) instead of a guy who looks like Booger from “Revenge of the Nerds”, it wouldn’t be such a big deal.
