Time to fire Sampson … and Greenspan
February 13th, 2008 · No Comments
Flash back to March 29th, 2006. I was a cub reporter at a Louisville TV station covering Indiana’s hiring Kelvin Sampson, and asked Indiana Athletic Director Rick Greenspan why he would hire a coach whose actions at Oklahoma could bring sanctions to IU (remember: Sampson made 577 [!] improper calls to recruits while at Oklahoma). [...]

The Rocket Malfunctions On Capitol Hill
February 13th, 2008 · 1 Comment
I have watched and listened to the MLB Steroids Hearing on Capitol Hill today starring Roger Clemens and Brian McNamee. 99.99% of the time these hearing are long, drawn out and boring. First off, here’s the PDF copy of the report: List of NCAA Allegations
Now, what does the report mean? In its most basic terms, the report [...]

John Rocker, Near Death Experience, Unfortunately Un-Related
February 13th, 2008 · No Comments
I think the important thing is that John Rocker is fully engaged. Or that he’s still alive and relevant enough to reveal in a Monday interview that Bud Selig and MLB Officials just might have turned a blind eye to a performance enhancing drug epidemic. Apparently, as part of a 14 game suspension incurred in [...]

Katz: Major NCAA violations at IU under Sampson
February 13th, 2008 · 2 Comments
I’m always hesitant to take anything Andy Katz says at face value, particularly when there’s not a source attached to it (Remember the fiasco prior to IU hiring Sampson? Yeah, exactly). However, if Andy Katz is correct this time, things are about to get pretty goddamn ugly in Hoosierville.
Multiple news outlets reported on Tuesday night [...]
