I just wanted to note that the Bloomington Herald-Times is reporting that senior guard and Indianapolis native A.J. Ratliff, who missed the first half of the season due to academics issues, is no longer on the Indiana basketball team.

The Herald Times blog noted the following:

The source said it was a mutual decision between Ratliff and coach Kelvin Sampson to allow the senior to work through some “personal issues.”

This doesn’t come as much of a shock. Ratliff had gradually moved out of the program’s orbit, and there were a healthy number of rumors flying around regarding his disposition with the team.

IU is scheduled to release a statement later in the day regarding this issue.
