If you missed it (and by all of his appearances on national TV it was hard to) you need to see at least one of Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson’s Wednesday appearances on national TV. Simply, he acted like a child, tried to force his way out of Cincinnati, all the while doing what he doesn’t want to do: Drive down his trade value.
Here’s his time with the NFL Network:

Besides the awkwardness of the interview (Steve Mariucci needs to find a coaching job so NFL N can get him out of broadcasting), the Cincinnati fan reaction is the best of the day. Mark Curnutte, the Bengals beat writer for The Cincinnati Enquirer, posted that video in his blog. And reader reaction? Chad’s the good guy - it’s the media who screwed up!:
“Simply put. You are a bad writer and a little loser” - Anonymous
“What a bunch of CRAP!!!! Kida sounds like the crap the media in this town is trying to make Chad out to be. No one hates on it’s athletes more than Cincinnati” - Sick of the media said
“Is everybody kidding? Chad is upset and darn well should B!He is the man when the Bengals R winning and the problem when they r losing because of the media” - Anonymous
“What it really so sad about all this, is that it all started Paul Daugherty’s article. look it up, the same week he wrote his opinion that Chad should be traded, Chad stopped talking to the media, and you cant blame him” - Anonymous
“Just because he is black and outspoken he has become a target for the typical ignorant boobs in this town. Of course the media here flames it on. Chad is not the cause of the problems with the Bengals, he is a victim of it” - Anonymous
“Cincinnati media is continuously trying to ‘cause problems. If it isn’t Daugerty, it is this amateur blogger and his boat shoes” - Born in Cincinnati
We love fans. Without them, who would make up the percentage of the American population scoring under 700 on their SATs? You stay classy Cincinnati.
