From our enough-is-f*cking-enough category:
21-year-old Sania Mirza is one of the best tennis players, male or female, India has ever produced (ranked 32nd in the world) … and because of a bunch of hyper yahoos she’s become one of it’s most controversial. The newest problem is someone snapped a photo of Mirza barefoot near an Indian flag. Apparently that could violate the nation’s Prevention of Insult to the National Honor Act, and some crazy whack jobs actually filed a complaint against her in court. The punishment if she’s tried and found guilty? Possibly up to three years in jail.
We couldn’t make this crap up if we wanted to.
“Unless someone takes exception to Sania insulting our flag,” one ultra-national crazy bastard said, “no-one will care for our country’s honour any more.”
Yeah, that must be it. Did you dorks notice the flag is a paper one on a stick?!?!
Previously, more crazies issued a fatwa against her for the dastardly deeds of … wait for it … wearing short skirts and sleeveless tops (because, of course, she’s supposed to wear sweaters and jeans a the US Open). More nuts burned effigies of her after rumors she supported pre-marital marriage (rumors found to be false; you may wanna check your facts before using fire).
Don’t you people have better things to do with your lives?
