Few schools embody the phrase “those who forget history are doomed to repeat it” quite like the University of Kentucky. So it should be no surprise former NBA star Shawn Kemp’s son, Shawn Kemp Jr., may soon call Lexington home.
Kemp Jr. tells The Louisville Courier-Journal UK is recruiting him hard, and the ‘cats areĀ one of the schools he’s looking at. Kemp Jr. is a top 100 recruit, is 6′9″ but apparently doctors have told him he could grow to 7′2″.
That said, does anyone remember the last time a Kemp walked on campus? You know, before Shawn Sr. ballooned to the size of Rupp Arena and left his seed inside at leas
t one woman in every state?
If you don’t, here’s the recap: Back in 1988, Kemp was supposed to be the next big thing at UK, maybe good enough to save coach Eddie Sutton’s job. Then he was declared academically ineligible. Then Sean Sutton, the coach’s son and point guard, lost two gold chains. Then Lexington police found someone pawning them. Who was that masked man?
Shawn Kemp, Sr. Needless to say, he was kicked off the team.
To be fair, there are no stories of Shawn Kemp Jr. doing anything untoward. That said, doesn’t anyone in Lexington have a memory any longer?

The question that really needs to be asked in this whole situation.
What the hell is Sean Sutton doing with two gold chains?
Perhaps it’s a fitting time to bring up “I’m gonna get you sucka” where June Bug OG’s.
