Right now isn’t a good time to poke the West Virginia faithful, especially if you’re some yahoo named “Coach”Kidd.
Apparently this guy’s a DJ at WVSR-AM, 102.7 ELECTRIC! (I just wanna say that one time out loud). Apparently he’s a Michigan alum. And apparently he kept telling listeners how great a move this was for the Wolverines, then played the fight song on air.
Over. And over. And over again. Four times. Not a good move, “Coach”: Management suspended him.
“Basically, it boils down to insubordination,” said Wade Hill, the station’s program manager told the Charleston Daily Mail. “He was just taking it a little too far.”
The “Coach” is suspended indefinitely. Didnt something similar to this happen on WKRP?

There was a DJ in Cincinnati, Q102 I believe, that played the Billy Squier song, Everybody Wants You, about 20-25 straight times one night. He was suspended and eventually canned I think. And yes, alcohol was involved. I don’t remember anything from WKRP though, still recovering from the wet sacks of sand hitting the ground at Fountain Square.
“As God as my witness, I thought Turkeys could fly.”
I could be wrong, but I believe that was Mark Hawkins on Q102.
Actually it was Mark Sebastian, I’d forgotten the until you mentioned the first name.
