Saban to West Virginia? You gotta be kidding us

Ok, we’re REALLY doubting the veracity of this one: The blog West by God Virginia reports Alabama coach Nick Saban contacted West Virginia about its opening. You know, the same Nick Saban that’s slept with every school in D-1 … I mean, the football bowl subdvision.

Far fetched? Probably. But WBGV (we’re not spelling out the whole thing. Sorry kids) says Saban’s agent contacted WVU prez Mike Garrison.

These sources tell us that Saban is extremely unhappy in Tuscaloosa and has failed to recapture the situation he had in Baton Rouge with LSU. The purpose of the agent’s call was to express initial interest in the position and to have WVU athletics put together a compensation package enough to lure Saban from Alabama.

Our friends at WGBV say their sources are telling them a deal wouldn’t have to be as much as Saban’s $4 million a year contract at ‘Bama, but somewhere above $2 million per season (Rich Rodriguez made $1.9 million a year before bolting to Michigan).

True? We’d be shocked if it was. But if so? Bobby Petrino would be the happiest man on the planet.
