Marvin the Michigan man? Not likely

Of all the names in the Michigan football coaching search, one we didn’t expect was Bengals’ coach Marvin Lewis.  And it’s just a tad silly. But we’ll play along.

Terry Foster of The Detroit News says Marv might be a candidate for the Wolverines. Really? Come on.

” Lewis turned down coaching opportunities at California and Michigan State because he wanted a shot at being a head coach in the NFL,” Foster wrote. “Now he is in trouble and he is one of those guys who wants a fall back.  Do not be surprised if he resigns before the Bengals fire him and he is in line for the Michigan job in the blink of an eye”

Interesting, but not realistic: Bengals’ owner Mike Brown doesn’t fire people until he REALLY has to (David Shula got FIVE years!) and while the last year has been a disaster for Lewis, there’s no sense his job is in jeopardy.

Lewis told The Cincinnati Enquirer all of this is bunk … and then became king of the third person.

”Marvin Lewis doesn’t know any of these reports,” Lewis said. “I appreciate the fact that you guys haven’t brought those up, until now. Let’s beat the San Francisco 49ers.”

Thanks goodness he told everyone who he was - I was starting to get confused. Not as confused as the Michigan search committee, but confused.
