It’s time once again for our weekly Epic Carnival post. This week, I tackle the very real issue of why Indiana basketball won’t get to the final four (or win the Big Ten) this year.

Your logic is flawed. They won’t win the Big 11 because they have to play MSU twice and OSU twice which makes it difficult to get extra wins against cheap teams.
However, nobody outside of MSU and OSU has any chance at winning the conference, and they play IU twice and each other twice.
So really there is no inherent advantage in the schedule for those two.
Predicting the final four is difficult at best. You can say “whichever” team will not make the final four and you’ll probably be right.
You’re forgetting Wisconsin, who only plays Michigan State once (and that’s in Madison). I think they have a far better shot than OSU, even if the scheduling was equal — I’d much rather have Bo Ryan on the sidelines than Thad Matta.
As for the final four, you’re right in a sense…but then again, we have no problem with people predicting who WILL make the Final Four, so I figured I’d reverse the trend.
