1. Patriots
For those fans in Oakland and Houston, who were not able to watch this game on CBS, just an FYI, the Pats won.
I’m not 100% sure the best team won on Sunday. The nice thing is that I have no doubt that these two teams will meet again this year, so if the Colts really are the better team, they will get one more shot to show it.
Now as all the talk of undefeated starts, I will say here first, the Pats are not going 16-0 this regular season. They will slip up at least once. But since I don’t see them losing two or more, it is possible that they stay at the top of this list for the rest of the season. Unless Brady comes back into a 55-0 game, and someone breaks his leg.
2. Colts
You can’t get the ball in the red zone and come away with a FG. That, and the lack of 88, really hurt the Colts against the Patriots. Like I said above, since the AFC is a two horse race, I believe they will get another shot at the Pats in January. But the game will be in New England.
3. Cowboys
If this was a horse race, there would be 20 furlongs between second and third place.
I wasn’t 100% sold on this team last week, and beating a bad Eagles team doesn’t really show me much. It just shows that they can win the games they are supposed to. I would like to see them play a good team……oh wait, they played the Patriots and lost. And I don’t see the Colts on their schedule. These top three might not change the rest of the season. Maybe I should stop writing about the Cowboys here and just keep track of who Romo is bagging this week. We can give a whole new meaning to Over/Under!
4. Packers
I’m not sure how they are doing it, but I can’t drop them if they don’t lose. It would be nice if they could run the ball or have a WR that I have heard of before. Can we dust off Steerling Sharpe?
5. Steelers
I really feel that what you saw on Monday Night was how bad the Ravens are, not how great the Steelers are. All I know is that I got off the plane in Atlanta on Monday night expecting to be able to watch some of the game while I ate dinner. It was already 35-7. Thanks Ravens for giving me a lot to watch on Monday!
6. Lions
There are some questions that great minds have pondered for eons.
How many licks to the middle of a Tootsie Pop? How many grains of sand on the beach? How many stars in the sky? How many years can you have a top ten draft pick, before you have to become a good team?
Looks like the Lions are trying to answer one of these questions.
On my radar - Saints, Browns, Titans, Giants (Just because of their record, not because I think they are good)
Dropped from the list - Jaguars
