Apparently anyone can get a website … besides us

Apparently the University of Louisville has the University of Kentucky beat in one category: Quarterback websites.

matt-simms.jpgWe’re just not sure if its something UofL should be proud of.

Yesterday we told you about UK’s lack of promotion for Andre Woodson’s Heisman campaign. Today we show you Louisville’s QB website … no, not Brian Brohm, but the guy who might eventually start: Frosh Matt Simms.

Yes, someone has made a website for Phil Simms’ (we truly hope it’s not Matt or a friend). And … well, it looks like it was made by a 5th-grader, and while it’s incredibly, humorously bad, we’re wondering, well, was the person who made it sober? Check it out, and check out Matt’s jersey page … surely it would be an NCAA violation if the website were Matt Simms’ AND it tried to sell his uniform, but unfortunately we have no idea what the hell this excerpt says:matt-simms-2.jpg

Matt Simms Jersey Page:
As of now, we currently do not have Matt Simms jersey or even Matt Simms rookie jersey, there are not so many Matt Simms jersey available for now. We will show you the Matt Simms jersey when it comes out. Please keep coming back at Matt Simms jersey page for updates.

Thanks for the information plus good use of run-on sentences I sincerely appreciate it read more after the jump on the website Matt Simms quarterback has bad English fire bad money good!

Ok, the icon on the right of the homepage is Matt Simms, but the one on the left is clearly Brian Brohm with his numbers eliminated (heck, they even kept the freaking UofL Cardinal bird logo on!). Why not just go for Johnny Unitas while you’re at it? You couldn’t find any shot of Simms passing in high school?

Click on Matt Simms News, and see the stuff we all wanted to find out: The story copied and pasted from The Louisville Courier-Journal “Cards to Issue Injury Reports”, a piece saying nothing about Simms’ health … just read and enjoy:

One of the most embarrassing moments for U of L in last Friday’s game (a loss to Utah) came late in the first half, when Utah converted a fake field goal. Tight end Matt Simms lined up at wideout completely uncovered and caught a pass from holder Brandon Godfrey.

Confused? Apparently Matt Simms did play in this game … except it was the Matt Simms for Utah.

Is this the worst joke of all time?

Scroll down and find the exciting Matt Simms story “Utah 27, Louisville 7″ … which was the halftime score of UofL’s loss to the Utes. Of course this passage makes up for the partial score:

They just faked a field goal from the U of L 12. Holder Brandon Godfrey passed to wide open tight end Matt Simms near the left sideline, and Sims was brought down on the 2. Mack ran the ball in on the next play. The extra-point missed, but the Utes still took a 27-7 lead.

We could go on: The article about Hunter Cantwell being a great backup quarterback; Matt’s high schools stats that include only yards and touchdowns; and the Matt Simms card page which, as you can imagine, is as barren as the jersey page.

Beyond those things, I think it’s a wonderful site. We’ll just hire whoever made it to do our spell checking.
