Interesting article from Brett Dawson of The Louisville Courier-Journal on how the University of Kentucky, despite it’s hot streak and great football publicity, is doing next-to-nothing to promote quarterback Andre Woodson as a Heisman Trophy candidate.

“It’s been Coach Brooks’ belief that that’s something that’s earned on the field over the course of the season,” said Tony Neely, UK’s media relations director, who will oversee any mailings that promote Woodson. “Coach Brooks’ plan has always been to promote at the appropriate time, in November and December.”

I can see where Brooks is coming from … if Woodson played for USC. That said, UK hosts Florida this weekend. On CBS, nationally televised. With ESPN Gameday there. If Andre throws for 300 yards, three scores and leads the ‘Cats to a win, perhaps the coach will prove us all wrong again.
