Don’t worry voters: Despite all South Florida has done this year, despite it’s resume being world’s better than Boston College, Ohio State, and yes, even mighty Oklahoma, we know you’re going to find reasons to keep them low because, hey, you can.
So here’s what you can tell people when they question why an unbeaten Big East team with wins at Auburn and over West Virginia is so low on your ballot:
– “South Florida won at Auburn on opposites day. Didn’t you get the memo?”
– “How can I rank them above Boston College? I LOVE “Boston Legal”!”
– “Woody Hayes punched a player. How many players has Jim Leavitt punched? What? Woody’s not Ohio State’s coach anymore? Oh …”
– “You mean we can’t rank all 12 SEC teams in the top 10? Who made this rule?”
– “I looked at the map, and determined while South Carolina is a state, South Florida is not. You can’t fool me!”
– “WWE announcer Jim Ross is from Oklahoma. You get Vince McMahon on your side, I’ll vote for USF”.
And your top excuse …
– “I don’t have time to pay attention to my voting: ‘Family Guy’ is on!”
