It could be worse for Miami: The Dolphins could be 0-5 … although that’d be WAAAAAY difficult since they’ve only played four games.

As Galen noted, yes, Miami, you have the NFL’s worst team. But things always get better with Cam Cameron, right? After all, his first season at Indiana he was 2-9, and his final one was … 5-6? That’s 150% improvement!

Urgh.

Regardless, Cam may not win, but he knows how to write a letter! In ‘97, days after Purdue’s 56-7 thumping left the Hoosiers seven below .500, Cam wrote one to the fans, saying:

“Believe me, I know this year wasn’t easy for you. We players and coaches wanted to win more games than we won … However, we know that this season wasn’t acceptable. We know that we have to get better. However, we are building a strong foundation. Be patient, but not too patient. Things will get better because you now know what it takes on your part to help us achieve our ultimate goal … the Big Ten championship”

The next four seasons, Cameron’s teams won four, four, three, and five games before IU did not renew his contract. He never made a Rose bowl, much less ANY bowl game (you can read the rest of his letter here).
